From Antwerp to the World: Youth Raise the Voice of Human Rights
From Antwerp to the World: Youth Raise the Voice of Human Rights
On October 9, 2025, the city of Antwerp hosts the 6th edition of the International Human Rights Oratory Competition, bringing together young lawyers and law students from across the globe to passionately defend the values of justice, equality, and human dignity.
This year’s theme — “How can the United Nations develop an effective strategy to address global migration?” — challenges participants to confront one of the most urgent and universal issues of our time.
The event provides a unique platform for the next generation of legal professionals, allowing them to transform eloquence into a powerful tool for defending human rights.
The Belgian Association for Human Rights and Development (BAMRO) welcomed this initiative, emphasizing its essential role in bridging theory and practice, and in strengthening international awareness around human rights issues.
From the Platform to Reality
Beyond eloquent words, the true challenge lies in translating them into concrete action whether in migration, climate justice, combating discrimination, or protecting refugees, these remain pressing daily struggles.
This competition rewards not only eloquence but also genuine commitment to change.
In Conclusion
From Antwerp, young voices remind the world that justice knows no borders, and that the free word remains a peaceful yet powerful weapon.
By supporting this initiative, BAMRO reaffirms that the fight for human rights begins with the word — but never ends there.
