Human Rights Education Education Institutions IN IRAQ

 

:The Recommendations

First: making an independent curriculum titled " The Human 

Rights" that will be toughed to all students in the governmental and

nongovernmental institutions of the Higher education and in all fields

but in deep and comprehensive way in the fields that are related to

human rights especially the fields that are concerned with the

enforcement of laws and disciplines such as judiciary, Media, Shariah,

…etc

 

Second: the suggested curriculum should include the following 

:expressions

Human Rights in Islam -

Human Rights in the International Bill -

Human Rights in the Local System -

Third: caring about combining the knowledge and practice in 

.teaching the curriculum

Fourth: Supporting and encouraging the research centers in the 

higher education institutions so as to make researches in the human

.rights fields

Fifth: encouraging the researchers and the postgraduate students 

to do researches in the human rights field focusing on mainstreaming

.the human rights in the Islamic Shariah

Sixth: supporting the libraries of the higher education institutions 

with references, documents and reports related to the human rights

.field

 

Seventh: inviting the higher education institutions to organize 

conferences, seminars and workshop especially in international days

.that are related to human rights

Eighth: Urging the higher education institutions to facilitate the 

participation of the staff members to attend the conferences and

workshops held within and outside IRAQ discussing human right

.issues

Ninth: developing the university environment to support the 

exercise of human rights for all higher education institutions' employees

and students, on the academic and administrative level, and emphasize

.the academic liberty

Tenth: urging the higher education institutions to prepare 

.specialists for teaching human rights in these institutions

These recommendations have been sent to the IRAQI government and another version

to the Minister of Higher Education and it is been directed to be taught

in the universities. The NSHR has published a booklet regarding this

workshop entitled " Human Rights Education in Higher Education

Institutions" including the working papers submitted in it, interventions

.and the recommendations
