Workshop on human rights in Iraq:

             Under the banner of the deployment of human rights principles and values ​​in society, our ally; the organization of communication and humanitarian brotherhood in the Republic of Iraq ; has organized a human rights workshop under the supervision of its President, Mr. Ali Abdul Hassan and the university professor Ali al-Yasiri . The trainees reached a number of fifty attendants from different nationalities .The event which took place on  January 12th,2016 was praised by everybody as all participants revealed satisfaction.

Among  the basic issues tackled in the workshop, we can cite the following:

- Identifying human rights and their specifities, as well as demonstrating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 besides describing forms of violence.

- Explaining the Convention on the Rights of Women and Children.

- Exposing  the issue of terrorism in Iraq and the attacks faced by women and minorities, particularly Christians and Elyazidi women. Moreover, there has been a fruitful discussion on the effects on the Iraqi society along with suggestive solutions that will help in resolving these problems so as to offer a glimmer of hope for these victims.

Results:

   The organization has successfully achieved the desired objectives of the workshop. Indeed, the trainees were able to recognize the meanings and forms of violence as well as its types through realistic examples that are currently taking place in Iraq. Furthermore, a number of laws that concern women and children were also identified. Meantime, the trainees learned skills that will enable them to claim their rights, and to cope with life challenges. Finally, the participants agreed to denounce all forms of extremism and violence against women.
